The Royal Opening Ceremony
After its prestigious rebuilding the ‘Amsterdam Rijksmuseum’, the Netherland’s prime museum for Old Masters and fine art, commissioned Part of a Bigger Plan to create the opening ceremony. ‘How would we personally welcome all visitors?,’ we questioned. This was our answer. An animation showcasing the 36,211 surnames of people living in the Netherlands. It began with the exact moment of the reopening by welcoming the Queen of Holland and then proceeded in an ongoing projection, which was featured in the entrance lounge for three days. The animation and its projection are now part of the main collection. Welcome to the Amsterdam Rijksmuseum.
